The LG Door Seal: a technical dossier
The door seal (gasket) keeps cold air in and warm, humid air out. A perished LG door seal forces the compressor to run continuously, wastes energy, and causes condensation and cooling loss.
- Door not sealing tightly
- Condensation or mould around the door
- Fridge running non-stop
- Frost forming quickly
- Door hard to close or popping open
- Inspect the gasket for splits and compression
- Test the seal with the paper-drag method
- Check door alignment and hinges
- Replace with a genuine LG door gasket
- Confirm an even seal all round
